Website design tips

When creating a website, you must keep in mind that the design of your site reflects your business. The design is the ergonomics of your website( its navigation structure, architecture etc...) It is therefore important that the user is not obliged, among other things, click on "previous page" in their browser to go back.
For years we were taught that in an interview, you only have 10 seconds to make a first impression. There is no difference between creating a website and that in an interview. The first impression can mean the difference between a buyer or a visitor to your website.
Here are five tips for creating your website:
1 - Limit the animated banners and advertisements
Limit the use or not using at all, animated banners and advertisements immediately at the beginning of your pages. There is nothing more annoying than clicking on a website to see cartoon characters or advertising for other products that "jump to the figure" when you open a page. This may be too much for your potential customer.
Your prospects are on your website in a very specific purpose, and if the ads or animated banners are all too present and monopolize their attention, they simply click on the famous button "previous page", I mentioned, to leave your site.
The only exception is conditioned solely by the objective of your website.
2 - Easy navigation
Make sure when creating your website that visitors can easily find and use your navigation menus. If a prospect starts looking for a navigation button to find information about your company, and that is not found, or that it does not work, you frustrate the prospect who is likely to leave your website.
Generally, your navigation menus should be placed on the left of your web pages because most people read from left to right.
 3 - Navigation ascending
When users navigate your website, they must have clear information from the page on which they are, and how they can access other parts of the upper level.
On each page, you must place an ascending navigation, clearly outlining the path from the home page to one where they are.
Example:
Home> category 1> sub-section 3> page that I visit now
 4 - page load time
When creating your website, pay special attention to loading time of your pages. If this time is too long (greater than 10 seconds), you can reduce it by optimizing the images on the page in question, and even optimize the graphics that were used in the design of your website.
The more time loading web pages, the longer it's frustrating for users who were expecting may finally find the information they sought. What people want, it’s right away, and certainly not tomorrow.
5 - The choice of the font
Use a common font for all browsers and easy to read (eg Verdana). Think about your target market. If you sell products or services to the elderly, it would be preferable to choose a font size consistent (the mons 12px).
All users have an exceptional view. With age, it deteriorates.
In addition, all web browsers do not display the same font. Therefore, you must use a universal font that is compatible with the majority of the most popular browsers.

  1. A Web site is a related collection of World Wide Web (WWW) files that includes a beginning file called a home page. A company or an individual tells you how to get to their Web site by giving you the address of their home page.
